Coronavirus: School Closure, wedding Ban and other Tough Decisions are Taken by Pakistani government to fight against COVID-19:
An emergency Security Council meeting held on Friday, 13th of march, took big decisions like closing educational institutes, big gatherings etc in Pakistan to fight against Coronavirus. The meeting was presided by prime minister of Pakistan, Imran khan. that meeting was also attended by chief of Army, Navy and Air force as well as Chief Ministers of all provinces. some of the outcomes from the meeting includes; closing country borders on all sides for 15 days, closing educational institutes till PSL matches in lahore, including finals, will be played behind closed door, banning public gatherings including weddings in marriage halls and calling off Pakistan day parade.
Victims of Coronavirus:
There are more then 5000 deaths already occurred due to COVID-19 and having about 145000 victums world wide. In Pakistan there are about 31 cases already registered of this infection. The latest case was a 20-year-old man in Sindh with no travel history. later on it was confirmed that his father had recently arrived in Karachi from United Kingdom. most of the cases in Pakistan are from sindh. About 17 of the total 31 cases are from Sindh.
Important steps against COVID-19:
the WHO country representative in Pakistan said Pakistan had come up one of the world's best "national response programme" against COVID-19.
Free tests for COVID-19:
Special Assistant to prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar mirza said that diagnostic tests for Coronavirus are being conducted for free all over Pakistan. He said that eight government laboratories had been provided the kits for Coronavirus testing. according to Dr zafar mirza, these kits were given for free of cost. he also said that Pakistan is one of the few countries in the world that can produce its Coronavirus kits. there are 25 hospitals across the country that had been designed to treat patients suffering from Coronavirus.
Province-wide emergency in Sindh:
On Thursday, the Sindh government imposes a province-wide emergency to takel the corona outbreak. all the marriage halls, shrines, and cinemas will remain closed till April 5,2020.
